The Charmed Collection is a cool mix of classic and contemporary drapery patterns, plus two perfect plains. Designed with a sophisticated and lustrous hand with inherently flame retardant constructions, the collection offers chic and stylish solutions for any artfully composed guest room.

Background: Drapery was a new strategic initiative for the company and I was given the challenge of developing the category. First I conducted customer interviews by traveling to several sales regions to interview interior designers about their needs. Then I analyzed their feedback and presented my findings to management to decide the best approach. I started with a collection of draperies from an established vendor and used the sales results to gain insights for our next steps.

 

For the second collection, I had the goal of expanding our vendor partners in the drapery category as well as meeting higher standards for responsible design by using only inherently fire retardant constructions. I traveled to the Heimtextil trade show and developed new relationships to bring in several new sourcing options. This resulted in more variety of qualities and price ranges for the category. In partnership with these vendors I expanded the brand offering to include sheers, velvets, and blackout fabrics over the course of 5 years.

Skills used in this project were international vendor sourcing and relationship development, aesthetic direction, artwork procurement, original artwork creation, and color development in both yarn dye and piece dye constructions.
